Heart of a Lion challenges us to see mountain lions not as villains, but as vital, complex animals living at the edge of our human world. Inspired by biologist Mark Elbroch’s groundbreaking research and his acclaimed book The Cougar Conundrum, the film reveals their hidden lives with intimacy and beauty, asking us to replace fear with respect and wonder. At its core, this story is about coexistence—and about reimagining our place in a wilder, more connected world.

Mountain lion and mountains

Heart of a Lion is more than a documentary—it’s the beginning of a movement. Through the film and its educational campaign, we aim to inspire coexistence between people and predators—through empathy, understanding, and action.
